Talking Tux

Who is Tux?

Tux is the mascot of the Linux operating system. Tux was created in 1996 by Larry Ewing, after the suggestions from Linus Torvalds and Alan Cox. The whole idea of Tux started when Linus was bit by a penguin at the National Zoo in Australia.

The name of Tux itself came from James Hughes. He came up with this brillant acronym: (T)orvalds (U)ni(X), or Tux!
